Our little Laynie bug was born on Saturday morning and I have been taking lots of pictures. Here are a few and there will be more to come.

Still not much new
Well finals have past and I thought I would have a lot more time to get out and take pictures but my wife is on bed rest and I've just been home holding down the fort (when we are not stuck at the hospital). I have got a new computer toy to play with though. It is a plug-in for photoshop called Bokeh from Alien Skins which you can find here. What it does is allow me to get the look of a large aperture lens (very blurred out backgrounds which makes the subject stand out more) without the cost of one. It does have its drawbacks though. I have to mask the subject in photoshop to keep the plug-in from blurring the wrong thing which isn't to bad except when it comes to hair. I hate trying to mask out stray hair and if I don't, it just doesn't look as convincing to me. Well anyway, here are a few examples from my trial of the plug-in. There are some better ones on the company website.

It has this feature that will blur out things gradually which makes it nice for backgrounds that slowly increase in distance from the subject. You can see it in this pictures below.

Finals
Well I haven't been able to get out and take anything new for a while thanks to finals. One more week of school and then I'll be able to breath again. I did get a little bit of time to work on some pictures of my brothers wedding and some of Gavin. I think some of the wedding pictures are on our family blog and there is one on my flickr site but here are a few more.

That same weekend, Heather wanted some pictures of Gavin in his baseball outfit so we got a mitt and ball to take a few but I think Gavin had other plans. He was a little tired I think and he really didn't want to wear a hat. I took a lot of pictures but it was hard to get him to keep his hat on and not have him cry. I guess that is the beauty of taking pictures of little kids.

Hi All
I decided to make a blog with some of my photos. I figure it never hurts to get your stuff out there. I will be posting some pictures here every so often (Sometimes its hard to get out and take them). If you want to see more of my photos, I have a Flickr page (There is a link to the right under "about me") if you want to see more of my photos. I hope you all enjoy and I look forward to hearing your comments.
